Am I remembering the awesomeness of the first book wrong?
Because this sequel has a lot of what I’ve come to dislike in NA… namely, The Drama. Granted, the first one also had that but in that one it was offset by two characters that made sense despite both their dark pasts. The degree of drama here though was almost too much. If you’ve read this author’s Micha and Ella books, the pair here read almost exactly like the pair in that one. Only, reversed with the guy here taking on Ella’s role and the girl here acting a little bit like both Micha and Ella.
I loved the first book despite both their drama because they were living anyway. Yet, it seems my memory’s played a trick on me because despite the identity in their names, these aren’t Callie and Kayden I was looking forward to!
This isn’t the book I was looking forward to: too much drama made worse by the too many instances of one or the other running away because one or the other had done something a stupid/selfish/selflessless thing.
